I hope you’ll indulge me in a little thematic hyperbole; The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling is ghoul-lightful.
The novel stars a witch named Vivienne who accidentally, on purpose, puts a hex on her ex-boyfriend Rhys. While she meant to cast the spell, she didn’t expect it to work.
Rhys is also a witch and something of a knucklehead. Case in point: he forgot to mention his betrothal to someone else. Given the circumstances, you really can’t blame Vivienne for pulling out all the hexy stops.
Erin Sterling is a matchless world builder; I fell headlong into the magic and charm which swirls through Graves Glen. Vivienne is lovable, her cousin Gwen is salty, and Rhys made me understand the whole witches-are-hot trope.
It wasn’t until I finished The Ex Hex that I learned the BookTok community also finds it bewitching.
