Newborn Blessing Spell:

A Wiccan child prayer that invites protection from nature’s deities for a newborn. This spell is often performed during a naming ceremony or similar event to bless the child’s life with safety and health.

Carmentis, a Roman goddess of childbirth, was honored on this day. She had the ability to fortell how long an infant would live. To bless a newborn as she begins life’s journey, gather one rattle, a piece of blue paper, a pen with silver ink, a small box, and silver glitter. As the baby sleeps, gently shake the rattle three times; place it in the box. On the blue paper draw with the silver ink an image of a boat; place it in the box say the following spell and then keep the box hidden.

Sprinkle some glitter over the box’s contents as you say:

Little one, your journey has begun.
But the best is still to come.
Live long and live well.
Let no one break this spell.

House Blessing Spell:

This spell calls divine light into a space, cleansing it of negative energies and sanctifying it against evil. It often includes elements of banishing and warding, ensuring that the space is protected and filled with positive energy. This specific spell grants you time to focus on decluttering and removing negative energy.

Helpful Hestia—
Lead me through my home
as I declutter my space.
Show me what I don’t notice.
Show me what to toss.

and simplify my life.

Good Luck Spells:

For this spell we will be using two common household spices that have associations with luck: nutmeg (ruled by Jupiter and associated with the element of fire) and allspice (ruled by Mars and corresponding with fire). You will also need either your besom or your household broom.

Sweep all the dust and dirt outward from your front door, with the intention to sweep away misfortune. Sprinkle the nutmeg and allspice in front of your door and then sweep it into a tidy line as close to your front door as possible, drawing near you good luck and fortune while chanting this verse:

By the Spirit and the elements four,
Blessings come knocking on my door.

My fortune has now become unstuck.
My life is abundant with my good luck.  

Blessing for Money Manifestation:

 This type of blessing is framed around specific goals, such as applying for scholarships or seeking financial aid. The spell is designed to bless the individual with favorable outcomes in their pursuits, emphasizing the importance of intention in the blessing.

Sprinkle cinnamon in the bottom of a small bowl and then place several pennies inside. Cinnamon will attract success and prosperity to you. The pennies represent your desire to attract and manifest money in your life. Find a spot in your home where you can see the bowl and walk by it often. After you have set the dish in the desired location, say:

Copper pieces dropped in again and
again, bring me financial gain.

Each time you pass the bowl, add a penny to it to renew the spell and continue to bring prosperity into your life.

Daily Wiccan Prayer: Empower Your Mission

 A common practice among Wiccans, this prayer invokes the protection of deities over a person, place, or object. It serves as a daily reminder of the divine presence and support in one’s life.

Light a candle on your altar or go outside and gaze at the full moon. Invoke the power of the moon by saying something like,

“Divine Mother Moon, hail and welcome.”

Then patiently craft a statement in the present tense. Include the positive changes you are choosing to make in the world, as well as the concrete action steps that are helping you make them. State the beliefs that explain why these gifts and actions are important to you, and clarify what makes your offerings unique. Play around with the wording until your statement feels just right. Then read it aloud to the moon. Feel and sense the moon empowering your mission. Give thanks to the moon.

Place your mission statement on your altar or someplace else where you’ll see it daily. Extinguish the candle.
